Flaxseed oil contains omega-3 (alpha linolenic acid) and omega-6 (linoleic acid) fatty acids and also omega-9 fatty acid (oleic acid). Flaxseed oil is the best source of all plant oils of alpha linolenic acid (omega-3). Alpha linolenic acid and linoleic acid are important building materials for cell membranes. Alpha linolenic acid also helps to maintain the normal cholesterol level of the blood. A high cholesterol level is a risk factor in coronary and vascular diseases. A beneficial effect can be gained by consuming 2 g of alpha linolenic acid per day.
Of the fatty acids of the linseed oil, approx. 93 % is unsaturated fat. Replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat has a beneficial effect on cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

Dosage and use:
Elixi Flaxseed Oil can be consumed as it is or by mixing it in yogurt, viili, buttermilk or berry quark, for example. For adults, a tablespoonful (8 ml) and for children, a teaspoonful (5 ml) per day. The oil can also be used in baking or salad dressings.
The product is not suitable for frying.
